In Whoosh! no. 2, Lioda Conrad captures the immediacy of motion with striking restraint. A vivid red gesture cuts decisively across a layered field of muted earth, ash, and soft gold—an energetic mark that feels both spontaneous and intentional. The surrounding surface, built through mixed media applications, carries subtle texture and atmospheric depth, allowing the central movement to pulse with intensity.
The composition suggests speed, interruption, or a fleeting moment suspended in time—an abstract horizon charged with emotion. Conrad’s balance of raw gesture and controlled space gives the work a contemporary sophistication, while the tactile layering invites closer inspection.
At 23 x 33 inches, this larger-scale work commands presence without overwhelming a space. Offered signed, framed, and shipped, Whoosh! no. 2 is a powerful acquisition for collectors drawn to bold minimalism, dynamic abstraction, and works that embody both movement and master
